This current policy follows a long lasting period of energy saving efforts which were made necessary by the constantly rising cost of traditional methods of energy production. This policy does not come as an alternative to those energy saving efforts, but rather comes next to them as the second lane of the same road leading to new renewable sources of energy. It is primarily based on the optimal use of new underdeveloped and underused energy sources such as energy from the sun, wind, water, biomass etc.
